That performance from Ball with 34 points and 11 assists was his fourth with at least 30 points and 11 assists in a game in his career. Heading into his fifth season Ball has the opportunity to lead Charlotte back to the playoffs since the 2015-2016 when Kemba Walker led the team.

Charlotte only had two other players in double-figures in the season opener in Tre Mann with 24 points on 4-8 shooting from three off the bench and Miles Brides with 10 points and nine rebounds.

In Atlanta’s win the team also needed a comeback and a strong fourth quarter to come away with a win. Young led the way with 30 points, 12 assists and five rebounds. He was able to get to the free-throw line at will going 14-16 overall. Onyeka Okongwu had a career night off the bench scoring 28 points on 11-12 shooting from the field.
