Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers will take the court at Ball Arena against the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.
The Cleveland Cavalier will come out of the Christmas break and travel to Denver, Colorado, on Friday night for an NBA regular season showdown. In Colorado, they will face off with the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena. The Cavaliers head into this game as their 31st game of the season. Looking back over their first 30 games, they have yet to lose a handful, with a record of 26-4. They finished October with five straight wins and an undefeated record. In 16 games in November, they lost three of them, one in the NBA Cup play to the Boston Celtics by three points.
The others were to the Atlanta Hawks in back-to-back games, the first at home by 11 points. They beat the Celtics earlier this month for revenge but have since lost to the Miami Heat on the road. Donovan Mitchell leads the team in scoring with 23.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. Darius Garland makes up the second half of the one-two punch with 20.4 points and 6.4 assists per game.
The Nuggets head into this game with double-digit losses to their name already this season. They are just in the upper half of the middle of the pack in the Western Conference. They sit behind the Dallas Mavericks and in front of the Los Angeles Clippers. After a tough win against the New Orleans Pelicans in overtime last weekend, they fought and beat a conference powerhouse in the Suns by 27 on Monday.
Nikola Jokic dropped 32 points in that win with two rebounds and seven assists. Michael Porter Jr also had 24 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jalen Pickett came off the bench and led the team with eight assists to go with 11 points. They were rematched with the Suns on Christmas Day.
