The still undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers travel to take on the Boston Celtics on Tuesday in NBA Cup – Group Play.
The Cleveland Cavaliers became the just the fourth team in NBA history to start the season 15-0. The Golden State Warriors were the last to accomplish this tremendous feat in 2016. Those same Warriors set the league record with 24 straight wins to open the season. Ironically, those Warriors had the greatest regular season record of all time, but famously lost to Cleveland in the NBA Finals. The Cavaliers won their 15th game of the season by beating the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday 128-114.
Darius Garland led the team with 25 points and the Cavs were still able to beat Charlotte without Donovan Mitchell. A huge reason for that was because Ty Jerome stepped up huge in Mitchell’s place, scoring 24 points. Except for a couple minutes in the first quarter, Cleveland led the rest of the way and cruised to the win despite LaMelo Ball scoring a game-high 31 points. This game will be much more difficult on Tuesday against the defending champions. That’s especially the case if Mitchell is still out. The Cleveland superstar is listed as a game-time decision.

Boston is right behind Cleveland in the Eastern Conference standingsm winning four of its last five games and the Celtics will be going for their third straight win. The Celtics are coming off an overtime victory over the struggling Toronto Raptors by a 126-123 final on Saturday.
Jayson Tatum came through in the biggest way, hitting a clutch three-pointer at the buzzer to snag the victory. The game was close the entire way despite the Raptors holding a 2-12 record. The competition will get much tougher in what will likely be one of the best games we see in the early regular season.
