The NBA Cup title winners take on the Cleveland Cavaliers who hope to take a 3-0 season series lead over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.
Fresh off a NBA Cup title, the Milwaukee Bucks have started to turn around their season and they’ll try to reach another milestone by beating the best team in the league in the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. Milwaukee is going for its fifth straight win after getting off to a slow start to the season. Most importantly for the Bucks is that they looked dominant in the NBA’s in-season tournament, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday by a 97-81 final. Tournament MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo led the charge with a game-high 26 points and the team limited Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to just 21 points.

The Bucks actually shot a slightly better percentage from behind the arc than their field goal percentage at 42.5 percent. Milwaukee connected on 17 threes in total. The Thunder shot just 15.6 percent from three, which was the glaring difference in the game from Las Vegas. Antetokounmpo also completed a triple-double with 19 rebounds and 10 assists, while Damian Lillard added 23 points. It might have not seemed possible earlier in the season, but with the momentum Milwaukee has now, the Bucks have a real shot at beating Cleveland on the road. The Cavaliers have only lost four games all season and are already up 2-0 in this series. It should be noted though that both of those games were decided by a combined three points in some instant thrillers.
Cleveland is looking as strong as ever though, going for its third win in a row and the Cavaliers have won six of their last seven games. Cleveland is coming off a dominating 130-101 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. Evan Mobley led the team with 21 points and Caris LeVert put up 19 more. Donovan Mitchell finished just behind with 18 points and had a highlight one-handed slam. The Cavs won shooting 53.1 percent from the field, as they rank first in the league in field goal percentage on the season (50.3). Cleveland will still be the favorite at home tonight regardless of all Milwaukee’s recent success.
