Here is a rundown of all the NBA Summer League games on Wednesday:
Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks (3 p.m. ET, ESPN2)
Jaimie Jaquez Jr. poured in 26 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 102-73 victory over the OKC Thunder in the Summer League on Monday. He was just one of seven players to score in double figures. A few others included Cole Swider and Isaiah Stevens, who had 21 and 22 points, respectively.
The Dallas Mavericks Summer League squad got absolutely thumped, 108-88, against the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night in a game that wasn’t even as close as the score suggested. Olivier Maxence-Prosper improved against the Grizzlies with 16 points, but it was still a difficult game for the Mavericks first round pick from last summer.
Sacramento Kings vs. New York Knicks (3:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV)
Three Kings starters scored in double figures in their 82-70 win against the Jazz. Colby Jones led the team with 25 points, while Drew Timme tallied 19 points, five rebounds and four assists. It also marked the team’s first win of the Las Vegas Summer League season.
The Knicks are still looking for their first win. The team lost 92-85 to the Brooklyn Nets, but were led by Duane Washington Jr., who collected 21 points and three rebounds. Dmytro Skapintsev led the bench with 19 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Pacome Dadiet amassed 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Toronto Raptors vs. Utah Jazz (5:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2)
The Raptors got a close 84-81 win against the Nuggets on Sunday. The Raptors (2-0) only had one starter reach double figures, with Ja’Kobe Walker collecting 12 points, five rebounds and three assists. Javon Freeman-Liberty led Toronto with 16 points and five rebounds.
Offense was lacking for the Jazz in their 82-70 loss to the Kings. The Jazz had just two players in double figures, including forward Kyle Filipowski, who scored 13 in 23 minutes. Armando Bacot also scored six points and had six rebounds. Part of the problem in this game is that the team shot only 19 percent from the three-point line.
Boston Celtics vs. Charlotte Hornets (5:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV)
Neemias Queta was the leading scorer of the evening in the Celtics 88-74 win over the Lakers on Monday. He scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Jahmi’us Ramsey had 13 points off the bench, and Drew Peterson also chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists. It was nice to see Queta do well considering the team just signed him to a three-year contract.
Nick Smith Jr. and the Charlotte Hornets took control in the second half on Tuesday in a 80-66 rout of the Denver Nuggets. Smith Jr. collected 18 points and six rebounds. Tidjane Salaun amassed 10 points and 10 rebounds. Zavier Simpson provided nine points, six rebounds and eight assists, while Matt Morgan led the bench with 15 points and two boards.
Phoenix Suns vs. Oklahoma City Thunder (8:00 p.m., NBA TV)
The Phoenix Suns lost a close one to the Pacers on Tuesday. It was a tough 98-94 loss after Phoenix squandered an 11-point lead. Quinndary Weatherspoon was on fire in the first half. He put up 15 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting in the first half. Phoenix is still looking for its first win in the Las Vegas Summer League.
On Monday night, the OKC Thunder lost 102-73 to the Miami Heat. The loss puts OKC at 0-2 in the Las Vegas Summer League after a solid showing in Salt Lake City’s Summer League earlier this month. Despite the loss, the Thunder had multiple young players perform well. For the second consecutive game, rookie guards Ajay Mitchell and Dillon Jones were both bright spots. In 24 minutes, Mitchell was the Thunder’s leading scorer, tallying 21 points, while shooting 8-of-14 from the field.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)
It was another rough night for Bronny James and the Los Angeles Lakers, as the defending champion Boston Celtics took care of business Monday night, winning 88-74. James didn’t get the same amount of looks at the rim as his last game, going 1-of-5 from the field. His lone bucket came with four minutes left in the game.
The Hawks announced that second round pick Nikola Djurisic will miss the remainder of the Summer League with a left foot fracture. It happened on Sunday night in a 79-76 loss to the Spurs. In two summer league games, No.1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher has averaged 14.5 points, five rebounds and two assists per game.
Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (10:00 p.m. ET, NBA TV)
The Warriors had a grind out 92-82 win against the Bulls on Sunday thanks in large part to Brandin Podziemski, Daeqwon Plowden and Trayce Jackson-Davis. The Warriors are a perfect 5-0 so far in Summer League play. Podziemski was undoubtedly the best player on the court, finishing with 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, 112-81, on Sunday. All five starters scored in double digits for the Cavaliers. Emoni Bates led the way with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. Craig Porter Jr. posted 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
