North Carolina will travel to Syracuse, New York, this weekend in a men’s college basketball battle between two Atlantic Coast Conference schools. On Saturday, they will match up with Syracuse at the JMA Wireless Dome. The North Carolina Tar Heels are 14-11 overall this season and have fallen to 7-6 against teams in the ACC. This perennially top team in the conference has now fallen down to the middle of the pack, sitting five games back from the conference leader No. 3 Duke with five teams between the two blue bloods.

North Carolina pulled off a revenge win last weekend at home against Pitt, a team that they lost to the week previous. The team won that game by one point, 67-66, on the back of 18 points from RJ Davis. However, that momentum failed quickly on Monday against Clemson, where it lost by 20 points and was run over for most of the game. Davis had another team-high 18 points in that loss.

The Syracuse Orange are 11-14 overall this season heading into this weekend. They are 5-9 against teams in the conference, sitting just a half-game behind four teams, including Virginia, Pittsburgh, Cal, and Georgia Tech. They are 2.5 games behind their opponent and 7.5 games behind the conference-leading Duke.

Syracuse picked up a big win in triple overtime last weekend against Boston College at home. In the 95-86 win, J.J. Starling led the team with 28 points on 10-of-22 shooting. It went on the road on Tuesday and lost to Miami in another fading of momentum. Starling led the team again with 25 points in the 91-84 loss.
