Tyler Reddick won the first race earlier in this season before the All-Star Break with Michael McDowell starting on the pole and leading the most overall laps. Heading into this race Reddick is on the bubble of elimination in the Round of 12 sitting in ninth place. He will need a win in the next two races or to close the four point gap between ninth and eighth place. Chase Elliott and Joey Logano are tied for that spot with 3,044 points. Elliott finished in second place two races ago while Logano won the first race in the playoffs to secure his place in this round of races.
