Dignity Health Sports Park is set to host the exciting weekend matchup between home side LA Galaxy and visiting club Minnesota United FC on Sunday in MLS postseason action. The Galaxy finished the regular season as the second-placed club in the Western Conference standings with 64 points out of 34 matches in the campaign. Furthermore, Los Angeles ended the season with an overall record of 19 wins, seven draws and eight losses. The club actually was level with fellow L.A. squad LAFC on points and overall record, but finished below them in the standings due to goal difference. The Black and Gold had a plus-20 in the goal difference column, while the Galaxy finished at plus-19.

In its most recent outing, the club who plays its home matches in the city of Carson took a 4-1 finish over the Colorado Rapids on Nov. 1. Gabriel Pac, Joseph Paintsil and Riqui Puig (twice) all found the back of the net in the dominant victory away from home. Meanwhile, Minnesota finished the regular season in sixth place in the West with 52 points in 34 matches. The club also had an overall record of 15 wins, seven draws and 12 losses.
United took on Real Salt Lake in the first round of the postseason. In the first leg, the two clubs drew 0-0, with Minnesota winning 5-4 in the round of penalty kicks to take a victory into the second leg of the best-of-three series.
Finally, Minnesota won the second leg in penalty kicks as well following a 1-1 draw in regular time.
