The Crew actually went up against the Red Bulls in a thrilling encounter on Decision Day at Red Bull Arena. Aziel Jackson opened the scoring in just the second minute of the match to put Columbus up 1-0.
Then, Yehven Cheberko doubled the lead for the Crew just 12 minutes later, a lead the team would take into halftime and beyond.
It wasn’t until the 78th minute where Emil Forsberg found the back of the net to pull one back for New York. Forsberg then put away a penalty kick to level the score at two apiece in the 87th minute of the match.
Finally, it was a 97th-minute strike from Malte Amundsen that ended up securing all three points for Columbus in Harrison, New Jersey.
