The Fall Classic is set as the Diamondbacks will take on the Rangers. Who will come out on top?
The MLB season is down to two teams. The Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros to win the American League pennant and the Arizona Diamondbacks took down the Philadelphia Phillies to win the National League pennant. Both teams won in seven games.

Texas Rangers
The Rangers have had a tough road through the playoffs after just missing out on winning the AL West. They had to settle for a wild card spot and a date with the 99-win Tampa Bay Rays in the first round.
The Rangers swept them and then swept the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles had the best record in the AL this year, but the Rangers left little doubt in the series.
The ALCS was a little different, as they went seven games against the division rival Astros, but they won all four game in Houston to advance.
The Rangers were led by Adolis Garcia who went off in the ALCS. Garcia knocked in a record-breaking 15 runs in the series and homered in four straight games, including twice in the pivotal Game 7.
Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks barely snuck into the playoffs and had lost four straight to end the regular season, but it didn’t matter. They shocked the Brewers in the wild card round, winning both games, and then they swept the powerful Dodgers in three games.
The NLCS was a bit different, as they lost the first two games in Philadelphia, but earned two comeback wins in Games 3 and 4. After losing Game 5, they took the last two on the road in a hostile environment and are back in the World Series for the first time since 2001 and just second time ever.
Ketel Marte won the NLCS MVP after setting an MLB record with a 16-game hit streak to start a postseason career. He hit .387 during the series and along with rookie Corbin Carroll led the Diamondbacks to the series victory.
Who Wins?
Both teams are hot at the right time, but needed seven games to win their respective leagues. It is a matchup nobody saw coming at the beginning of the year and despite the lack of big names could be a great series.
The Rangers have the big bats, but the Diamondbacks have a ton of confidence after taking down the defending NL Champs.
The Rangers have home field advantage, but they are coming off an ALCS in which they didn’t win a single game at home.
The Diamondbacks were outscored in the regular season by 15 runs and have widely been described as the unlikeliest team to ever make a run to the World Series.
They both come in extremely confident, so who has the edge? That is a hard question to answer, as they both have strengths in different areas. The Diamondbacks prefer low scoring games, as their pitching has been great, but the Rangers would rather slug it out. Texas scored the most runs in the AL and 135 more than the Diamondbacks this year.
The Diamondbacks are not going to go away quietly, but Garcia is going to stay hot and lead the Rangers to a World Series win. They made the World Series in 2010 and 2011, only to come up just short. They don’t this time and get the win.
