What seemed an insurmountable lead in the NL East held by the Mets for much of the first half of the season has just dwindled to three games. No one has been hotter than the Braves lately and going into today, they are 21-5 in June.

Atlanta will go for the sweep today, winning the first two games of this series against the Phillies. After winning 5-3 on Tuesday, the Braves limited the Phillies’ offense yesterday to get the win 4-1. Kyle Wright threw seven innings while only giving up one run and Adam Duvall homered to give Atlanta some cushion. So far, without Bryce Harper, the Phillies haven’t been able to score much. Philadelphia looks to salvage a win in this series while Harper is out indefinitely after needing surgery for his broken thumb.
The Phillies will try to do that by starting Aaron Nola, who has a 4-5 record but an impressive 2.98 ERA. The Braves will counter with Ian Anderson, who is 6-4 but gives up more than a run and a half more per nine than Nola.
