The Red Sox gave up four runs in the top of the first and trailed 5-0 heading into the bottom of the third. They would come back and tie the game in the fifth and then Christian Vasquez hit a tie-breaking single in the eighth to give Boston the win.
The Red Sox have now won four straight and have a chance to get their first series sweep of the year on Sunday.
The Mariners, though, are looking to slow down the streaking Red Sox and avoid being swept.
Seattle has now lost five of its last six games and is looking to get a win before it heads home for a six-game homestead against AL West rival Houston and Oakland.
The Mariners will turn to Logan Gilbert on the mound to stop the slide. Gilbert is 4-2 on the season with a 2.40 ERA but the Mariners have lost his last three starts.
