The Colorado Rockies go for their seventh win in a row and a series sweep of the San Diego Padres on Wednesday.
The Colorado Rockies have seemed to figure something out this week. Coming into this stretch of games, the Rockies had the worst record in all of MLB. Now Colorado has won six in a row, including a sweep of the defending champs, the Texas Rangers. Now the Rockies have a chance to sweep the San Diego Padres in the series finale on Wednesday. Colorado won this series with a 6-3 victory on Tuesday that dropped the Padres to a game under .500.
The Rockies are getting much improved pitching in this streak and that was no exception in Game 2. Cal Quantrill started for the Rockies going six innings while only giving up one run. Ezequiel Tovar homered on the first pitch of the seventh inning to put the Rockies up 6-0. Before this run, the Rockies hadn’t won back-to-back games all season and had lost nine of their last 10 games.
