The reeling Cincinnati Reds look to pick up a series win on Wednesday in the finale of a three-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Cincinnati Reds (18-24) won for just the second time in 13 games on Tuesday night and take on the Arizona Diamondbacks (20-23) in the rubber game of their three-game series at Chase Field on Wednesday afternoon. Cincinnati stands tied with the St. Louis Cardinals in fourth place in the National League Central, seven games behind the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers. The Diamonbacks sit third in the NL West, 8.5 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Reds suffered a setback before their series in Arizona when outfielder TJ Friedl went on the injured list with a fractured left thumb. Expected to miss four to five weeks, Friedl had played in just six games since returning from a broken wrist sustained during spring training.
