The New York Mets and Pete Alonso will take the field against Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night.
The Milwaukee Brewers will head on the road for the first game of a best-of-five series with the NL East divisional champions, the Philadelphia Phillies, at Citizen’s Bank Park on Saturday afternoon. The Phillies head into the playoffs winning the division for the first time in a long time. For the past couple of seasons, they have entered the MLB Playoffs as a Wild Card team after losing the division to the Atlanta Braves. However, this year, the team got a bye from that first round. They finished 95-67 on the season with the second-best record in the MLB behind the Los Angeles Dodgers who were 98-64. Bryce Harper led the team in hits this season with 157 on the offensive side while Kyle Schwarber tallied 38 home runs to lead the team, just eight over Harper’s 30. Zack Wheeler dominated this season pitching with 200 innings pitched, a 16-7 record, and a 2.57 ERA with 224 strikeouts.

The Mets advanced to the divisional round after taking down the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 in a best-of-three series. They finished the season with an 89-73 record getting a win on the last day of the regular season in a double header with the Atlanta Braves to just advance to the Wild Card round, if they lost both games they would be at home right now.
With their backs against the wall is the best place this team has played this season. They won the first game of the previous series 8-4 before losing in the second game 5-3. On Thursday night in Game 3, New York went into the top of the 9th inning down 2-0 when Pete Alonso hit a three-run home run to get the lead to New York and eventually the 4-2 win.
