The Mets head to Milwaukee on Tuesday evening to take on the Brewers in Game 1 of their Wild Card series
The New York Mets battle the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday evening in Game 1 of their Wild Card series. The Mets clinched a playoff berth on Monday when they won the first game of their doubleheader with the Atlanta Braves. The Mets and Braves played a wild game one in which the Mets trailed 3-0 heading into the eighth inning. They would proceed to score six runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead, but gave that lead up when they surrendered four runs in the bottom of the inning. Francisco Lindor saved the day with a two-run home run in the top of the ninth and the Mets would secure a wild card spot with the win. Tuesday they begin their improbable playoff run with Luis Severino taking the mound. Severino finished the regular season 11-7 with a 3.91 ERA. The Mets have struggled lately with him on the mound, though, as they have lost three of his last four starts.
