The Rangers grabbed the win in the first game of the series. They scored three times in the eighth inning to come away with the 5-3 victory. On Tuesday, the Astros bounced back with a comeback win of their own, scoring four times in the top of the eighth to win 4-3.
Houston designated hitter Yordan Alvarez continues to dominate at the plate. The 24-year-old, who recently signed a long-term contract extension, is hitting .500 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 11 games since the start of June.
Righty Luis Garcia will get the start for the Astros on Wednesday. Garcia is 3-5 with a 3.60 ERA so far this season. His 1.07 WHIP is the second-best in Houston’s rotation.
This is a getaway game for the Rangers, who are off to Detroit to begin a four-game series on Thursday. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. ET, with coverage beginning at AT&T Sportsnet South.
