The Padres are currently sitting in second place in the NL West and are only two games behind the Dodgers. The Rockies are in last place in the NL West and are twelve games back from the Dodgers.

Colorado is coming off of a series win against the Giants in which it took two of the three wins with a score of 5-3 in game one and 4-2 in game three. The Rockies dropped the second game of the series in a close 2-1 loss. Despite playing well, Colorado could not hold off Luis González’s walk-off in the bottom of the tenth and they lost the game.
The Padres are on a two-game win streak after beating the Mets in the last two games of the series. Game one went to the Mets with a score of 11-5, but the Padres bounced back and blanked the Mets in game two, 7-0. Game three was a 13-2 win for the Padres to secure the series.
While the Rockies need to find a new gear and start winning games, the Padres will be a tough team to beat for Colorado, even on a strong day. Tune in tonight to see if the Rockies can pull off the win.
