This series has also been the Major League return of the Pirates’ top prospect, Oneil Cruz. The 6-foot-7 shortstop played two major league games last year, then began this year in the minors until this week. In three games this week, he has a double and five RBIs.
Thursday’s pitching matchup features a pair of lefties. Justin Steele will take the mound for Chicago, going up against Jose Quintana for Pittsburgh.
