The men’s national team of Canada will take on the national team of Panama in an international friendly in Toronto, Canada at BMO Stadium. Canada had two international friends in the last month taking on the United States and Mexico. The nation took down the United States 2-1 before drawing with Mexico 0-0. In the win, Jacob Shaffelburg led the team with a goal in the 17th minute. Jonathan David doubled down making it 2-0 in the 58th minute. The USA went on to score in the 66th minute but couldn’t find the equalizing goal. Canada won its first game against the USMNT in the United States in over 67 years. It had a total of 17 shots to the USA’s eight and seven shots on goal to the USA’s five. Despite the 0-0 game against Mexico, Canada should have lost giving up twice as many shots total 10-5 in favor of Mexico. It also gave up 3-1 shots on goal also in favor of Mexico. Canada will look to get back on the winning side tonight.

Panama played its first international game earlier this month since the 2024 Copa América quarterfinals in July where it lost to Colombia 5-0 in a discouraging loss. Panama turned around last week and lost to the United States 2-0 in an international friendly played at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Despite the shutout loss 2-0, Panama statistically outpaced the USA. Panama won the total shots differential 13-11 and just barely lost the shots on goal differential 4-3. In terms of time of possession, Panama lost 45% to 55%. It will look to bounce back with a huge win over Canada in tonight’s game.
