In the men’s college basketball game of the week, Auburn, the No. 1 ranked team in the country, will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in a matchup of the top two Southeastern Conference schools. On Saturday, they will face off against Alabama, the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, at the Coleman Coliseum. The Auburn Tigers are 22-2 overall this season and lost their first conference game of 2024 against No. 3 ranked Florida last weekend in a nine-point loss. They are now 10-1 against conference teams tied with their opponent for the lead in the conference.

Miles Kelly led Auburn in the loss to Florida with 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting in a game-high performance. The team bounced back earlier this week with a 12-point win on the road against Vanderbilt. Denver Jones led the team with 21 points in the win, while Johni Broome totaled 17 points and seven rebounds with two assists.
On the other side, Alabama is 21-3 overall this season with just one more non-conference loss than their opponent. They are also 10-1 against teams in the SEC tied for the lead after losing in January to former No. 21 Ole Miss on the 14th. They are two games ahead of No. 3 Florida and No. 8 Texas A&M, who are at 8-3.
Alabama won both of its games in the last week with a four-point win over Arkansas on the road, led by a 15-point performance from Grant Nelson. Earlier this week, they went on the road to Austin, Texas, and beat the Longhorns by 23 points, scoring 103 themselves. Jarin Stevenson led the way with 22 points, while player of the year candidate Mark Sears dropped 18 points and three assists.
