The lead was upheld until the 38th minute, when Elías Montiel leveled the score for los Tuzos. Finally, it was Ozziel Herrera in the 72nd minute who found the back of the net to secure all three points at home for Tigres. Javier Aquino also received a red card in stoppage time, leaving the Mexican forward unavailable to face Tijuana on Friday.

The victory at home over Pachuca snapped a two-match losing streak for Tigres UANL, which saw the club fall against the likes of Monterrey and Mazatlán, 4-2 and 2-0 respectively.
