No. 2 seed Boston College hosts unseeded Michigan in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
With the tournament’s second seed hosting the quarterfinals in Newton, Massachusetts, No. 2 seed Boston College hosts unseeded Michigan with a trip to the Final Four on the line on Thursday. The Eagles have been one of the top teams in Women’s College Lacrosse all season with a strong 17-3 overall record and a 9-2 mark at home. Boston College has won five consecutive games, including an ACC Championship with a win over then-No. 1 Syracuse in the ACC title game. Michigan, on the other hand, used wins over Mercer and Notre Dame to reach the quarterfinals. The Wolverines are 16-3 overall with a perfect 11-0 road record. Michigan has reached the quarterfinals for the first time in program history, and they’ll play Boston College for the first time ever on Thursday.

Most recently, the Eagles cruised past Princeton to reach the quarterfinals with a 21-16 victory last Sunday. Six players scored hat tricks in the win with Belle Smith scoring a season-high five goals for the Eagles.
As for Michigan, the Wolverines pulled off an upset with a 15-14 victory over No. 7 Notre Dame at the buzzer. Jill Smith scored a last-second goal to lift Michigan to their first-ever quarterfinals appearance, as Smith netted a hat trick to go along with four goals from Katherine Marrifield.
