In search of season’s first win, Getafe aims for points in its third consecutive trip to Real Betis on Wednesday.
With four points collected in its last two visits to Benito Villamarin, Getafe aims to earn its first victory of the new season Wednesday when it hits the road to face Real Betis, who tallied its first win of the year on Friday. Getafe has only mustered one goal in its first four La Liga matches this season and has been held without a goal in three consecutive contests after an opening day 1-1 draw with Athletic Club. Real Betis opened the campaign with consecutive draws against Girona and Alavés before being on opposite sides of back-to-back 2-0 results already in September.

Morocco born forward Abde Ezzalzouli, who made his debut with Real Betis last September, tallied his first goal of the season in Friday’s win over Leganés, equaling his scoring output for all of the 2023-24 campaign. The 22-year-old winger played in four matches with the Morocco National Team this summer at the Olympics in Paris after helping the U-23 side win the Africa Cup of Nations last year.
This match marks the second trip to the city of Seville in a week for Getafe after losing 1-0 at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on Saturday.
Betis has been plagued by red cards in this series earning four in the last five meetings, including a 1-0 home loss to Getafe in May 2023.
Over the last five meetings, the series is split 1-1-3 with both teams earning away victories, while splitting last season’s fixtures with identical 1-1 draws. Each of the last seven meetings have seen two goals or less with seven of the last nine contests seeing a side maintain a clean sheet victory.
