The victory in UCL action brought Girona FC back to winning ways, following its narrow 10 defeat against Real Sociedad last Saturday at home.
Before that, the club came away with a 2-1 victory over Athletic Club de Bilbao on Oct. 6 at Montilivi Stadium. Yásper Asprilla and Cristhian Stuani got on the scoresheet in the win at home in La Liga play.
The Uruguayan forward found the back of the net in the 99th minute of the match via penalty kick.
That victory was also a bounce-back win for Girona FC, following a 3-2 loss to Feyenoord on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League. David López and Donny van de Beek got on the scoresheet in the defeat at home.
