La Liga leader Barcelona hosts Las Palmas on Saturday hoping to rebuild its cushion at the top of the Spanish standings after losing two domestic games on the trot and falling within reach of Real Madrid. It wasn’t long ago Hansi Flick’s side looked as though they were already moving out of reach at the summit, but defeat at Real Sociedad followed by a draw at Celta Vigo has seen that lead cut drastically. Real now sits just four points behind the Catalans and boasts one game in hand over the pace-setter, making Saturday’s test a must-win for Barca if its to keep hold of its advantage.
