In the last game between the teams Washignton won 112-109 two weeks ago as part of Toronto’s 15-game losing streak. Washington closed the gap in the fourth quarter and came back for the first win of the season against Toronto.
Deni Avdija led six players in double-figures scoring with 22 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in the win. Jordan Poole (18 points and 12 assists), Corey Kispert (18 points on 4-6 from three), Kyle Kuzma (16 points, nine rebounds and five assists), Richaun Holmes (15 points and 14 rebounds) and Marvin Bagley III (10 points off the bench) all scored in double-figures.
For Toronto, Gary Trent Jr. led all scorers with 31 points going 10-10 from the free-throw line. Four other players scored in double-figures with rookie Gradey Dick (17 points) splashing threes and Kelly Olynyk (14 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and two steals) stuffing the statsheet.
