Utah holds its annual 22 Forever spring football game on Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium as it prepares for its move to the Big 12 Conference
Utah comes off an 8-5 final season in the Pac-12 Conference, finishing 5-4 in the league and losing the Las Vegas Bowl to Northwestern to close it out. The Utes battled injuries all of last season, with quarterback Cameron Rising and tight end Brant Kuithe back on the field after missing all of 2023. The 22 Forever Game honors former Utah players Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe, both of whom died from gunshot wounds less than a year apart in December 2020 and September 2021. Jordan died in an accidental shooting while Lowe was shot to death at a house party. All ticket proceeds from Saturday’s game go to the 22 Forever Memorial Scholarship fund, which has raised more than $900,000 since its establishment in 2021.

The Utes won two conference titles in the Pac-12, going back-to-back in 2021 and 2022 and are 10-6 in bowl games under coach Kyle Whittingham, who moved up from defensive coordinator after Urban Meyer left for Florida after the undefeated 2004 season.
Rising and Kuithe suit up for the Red team on Saturday. The duo linked up for nine touchdowns earlier in their careers. Transfers Taeshaun Lyons (Washington) and Dorian Singer (USC) will line up at receiver spots for the Red squad.
The White team featured all-purpose running back Micah Bernard, who was limited to two games last season due to injury. Freshman quarterback Isaac Wilson, a four-star in-state recruit, will share snaps with senior Luke Bottari and JUCO transfer Macloud Crowton.
Regional restrictions may apply.
