Big Ten lacrosse play continues on Sunday for Ohio State and Penn State in Columbus.
On Sunday afternoon, No. 5 Penn State will travel to Columbus to take on Ohio State in the Big Ten opener. The Buckeyes come into conference play with an overall record of 5-4 so far this season. The team’s most recent game was played against No. 9 Denver and resulted in a 9-6 loss at home last weekend. Alex Marinier led the offensive efforts for the Buckeyes with two goals and four other Buckeyes scored one goal in the loss. Ed Shean was one of those four players with a goal and added two assists for a three-point game. Calob Fyock played the majority of the game in net for the Buckeyes and made 10 saves in the loss.

The Nittany Lions lost their season opener to Colgate in a tight 13-12 loss, but have gone on a six-game win streak to bring their overall record to 6-1 ahead of Big Ten play. The team’s most recent game was against Marquette last weekend and resulted in a 13-7 victory. Will Peden led the offense with four goals and added one assist. TJ Malone supported offensive play by scoring two goals and adding four assists. Jack Fracyon anchored the defense in net and made 12 saves to keep the team’s win streak intact.
When these two teams met last year during conference play, Penn State earned a big 17-9 win at home.
