With five wins in their last seven games, the Dallas Stars wrap a three-game road trip in the Windy City on Wednesday night as they take on the Chicago Blackhawks in search of a 13th win over the hosts since 2021. The Blackhawks have lost six of their last eight games and have lost each of the first two meetings against their Central Division rival Dallas already this season with both losses coming by two goals. Dallas holds the National Hockey League’s seventh-best scoring offense tallying 3.45 goals per game while Chicago is next to last averaging 2.33 goals per contest.

The Stars have held 14 of their first 20 opponents to three goals or less, led by goaltender Jake Oettinger who is 11-4-0 with a 2.43 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage on the young season. Oettinger, who started both games against Chicago this season, has stopped 47 shots in the two wins allowing just three goals to the Blackhawks but was shelled for five goals in Dallas’ loss at Carolina on Monday.
Last year’s Rookie of the Year Connor Bedard leads Chicago with 15 points on the season despite being held without a point in five of the last six games. Bedard was the number one overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and scored 22 goals alongside 39 assists in his rookie campaign.
