La Liga champion Real Madrid can condemn Granada to relegation with victory on Spain’s south coast
A four-year stay in La Liga will come to an end for Granada on Saturday unless the relegation candidate can turn up the most unlikely of wins against recently crowned champion Real Madrid. Los Nazaries occupy 19th place heading into Week 35 and are an all but insurmountable 11 points adrift of safety, needing pretty much four wins from their remaining four fixtures if they’re to survive. Of course, that will prove easier said than done against a team that has lasted just one game inside the 90 minutes across all competitions this season and is eyeing a rare European and domestic double.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men were already on a high after celebrating their return to La Liga gold, but Los Blancos have an even greater wind in their sails after advancing to the Champions League final.
And they did so in the most dramatic fashion given Bayern Munich appeared all but set to win 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday and edge the tie 3-2 on aggregate after drawing the first leg.

The scenes in Madrid were manic in midweek, but Real will have no interest in seeing that momentum lost in the visit to lowly Granada, who has turned its ship around to lose just once in four.
After going three months without a win, Granada ended its drought under new manager Jose Ramon Sandoval, who was hired in March with the unenviable task of rescuing the club’s top-flight future.
That may prove beyond his talents, though a recent return of two wins from as many home fixtures has at least seeded hope that an upset could be on the cards.
