Nick Boyd and SDSU will continue MWC play against Tyson Degenhart and Boise State on Saturday at ExtraMile Arena.
San Diego State will travel to Boise, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon for a Mountain West Conference matchup in men’s college basketball against Boise State at the ExtraMile Arena. The Boise State Broncos (11-3, 3-0) ended non-conference play in the middle of December with an 8-3 record. They only lost one game last month altogether against Washington State at home by five points. Their other two losses in December came against San Francisco and Boston College in the championship game of the Cayman Islands Classic.
They did pick up a big win against Clemson at home by 13 points in their best non-conference win. They ended last month with three straight conference wins against Air Force, San José State, and Wyoming. Boise State is led in scoring by senior Tyson Degenhart. The 6-foot-8 forward is averaging 18.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season while shooting 52.5% from the field.
The San Diego State Aztecs (8-3, 1-1) ended their non-conference schedule with a 7-2 record. They lost their first game of the season against former No. 3-ranked Gonzaga by 13 points before beating former No. 21 Creighton by 18 points in the first round of the Players Era Festival, Power Tournament.
They lost the next game of that tournament to Oregon by 10 points for their other non-conference loss but bounced back against former No. 6-ranked Houston by three points in overtime in the third-place game. They won four straight games in December, rising to No. 23 on the AP Poll, before losing their last game of 2024 to Utah State at home by one point. Nick Boyd leads SDSU in scoring with 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
