The Detroit Pistons try to get back within a game of .500 when they travel to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday.
The Charlotte Hornets may have lost four of their last five but they go for their fourth win at home in a row when they host the Detroit Pistons. The Hornets are trying to avoid losing three games in a row though. It is helpful that Charlotte is already leading this season series 1-0 beating the Pistons at home by one point two weeks ago. Charlotte is coming off a one-point loss to the Brooklyn Nets when it lost 116-115 on Tuesday. Brandon Miller had a shot to win the game but he missed a three-pointer with just 1.1 seconds left in the game. Cam Johnson was just too much for Brooklyn scoring a game-high 34 points. Miller led the Hornets with 29 points. Detroit is the slight -1.5-point favorite against the Hornets on the road tonight.

Detroit is coming off a 122-112 loss against their division rival the Chicago Bulls on Monday. Zach LaVine took over in the fourth quarter to put the Bulls ahead for good as he scored 16 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter. Nikola Vucevic led all scorers with 29 points and the Pistons were led by Cade Cunningham who scored 26 points. The loss ended a potential three-point winning streak.
Detroit is trying to forget its last game against the Hornets when Miller got a putback at the buzzer to secure the one-point win. The game was as even as could be with both shooting 31 percent from three and both shooting in the 40s overall. This game will be about as close on paper that any matchup in the NBA tonight will get.
