Dylan Harper and No. 24 Rutgers will take the court against Simeon Cottle and Kennesaw State on Sunday afternoon.
The No. 24 ranked team in the nation, Rutgers, will travel to Georgia on Sunday afternoon in the third weekend of men’s college basketball. In Georgia, they will face off against Kennesaw State at the KSU Convocation Center. The Scarlett Knights have made national headlines with two of the best freshmen in the country. They are now undefeated at 4-0 through the first three weeks of the season and have bounced up the top-25 rankings. They started the season as the No. 25 ranked team and took down Wagner and Saint Peter’s at home by over 10 points each.
After those wins, they moved up to No. 24 and took down Monmouth in the second week at Jersey Mike’s Arena in Piscataway, New Jersey. Earlier this week, they followed it up with their fourth win by 11 points. Ace Bailey is leading the team, averaging 20.0 points in just two of the four games. He is also averaging 8.0 rebounds and a block per game. Dylan Harper is averaging 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in all four games.
The Owls of Kennesaw State are 4-1 overall this season. They opened up the year with a home win against Toccoa Falls by 49 points. They lost their only game by four points to CA Baptist in the WAC/CUSA Challenge. They bounced back with a win against Bryan College in the next week by 35 points.
That weekend, they took on Presbyterian and won by 18 points. Earlier this week, they took on Abilene Christian in their second WAC/CUSA Challenge game and won by six points. Simeon Cottle, a junior guard, leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 18.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
