Week 3 of the 2024 UFL season kicks off on Saturday afternoon at Choctaw Stadium, with the D.C. Defenders (1-1) taking on the Arlington Renegades (0-2). Last time these teams met, it was in the XFL Championship last spring. The Renegades pulled off the upset over the regular season champion Defenders to win 35-26 and capture the title. It was one of only two losses the Defenders had that season. The teams also played in the regular season, with D.C. winning at home 28-26 in Week 9.

The Defenders are coming into this game after picking up their first win of the year last week when they beat the Houston Roughnecks 23-18. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu threw for two touchdowns, while the defense forced a pair of fumbles.
Arlington is still looking for its first win of the season. Last week the Renegades came close, but fell 27-24 on the road against the St. Louis Battlehawks. Arlington quarterback Luis Perez played well despite the loss, completing 21 of his 29 pass attempts and throwing a touchdown without an interception.
