The San Diego Padres continue their Spring Training slate vs. the Los Angeles Angels in Arizona on Tuesday.
With both teams opening the Spring Training exhibition season at home last weekend, the San Diego Padres host the Los Angeles Angels at Peoria Stadium in Arizona on Tuesday afternoon.
San Diego is coming off a successful 2024 season where it pushed the eventual World Series champion Dodgers to a five-game series in the National League Divisional round. The Padres finished the regular season as the top Wild Card team in the NL at 93-69, sweeping the Braves with two wins in the NL Wild Card series to reach the divisional round. Los Angeles, on the other hand, is coming off a year where it had the second-worst record in the American League at 63-99. These two teams will meet twice in Spring Training with a home-and-home series.

Over the weekend, the Padres began Spring Training with back-to-back wins over the Mariners and A’s at Peoria Stadium. San Diego trounced the Athletics by a final score of 10-3 on Saturday, scoring five runs in the second inning, followed by a four-run fifth inning. Jackson Merrill had a two-RBI single in the bottom of the second inning to make it 4-1.
As for Los Angeles, the Angels continue their Spring Training slate following games against the Guardians and Giants over the last two days. The Angels finished an even 15-15 in Cactus League play last spring, but that didn’t translate into a poor regular season performance.
