Marcel Reed and No. 15-ranked Texas A&M will take the field against Payton Thorne and Auburn on Saturday night.
The No. 15 ranked team in the country, Texas A&M, will travel to Auburn, Alabama, on Saturday night of Week 13 of the college football season. In Alabama, they will take on Southeastern Conference rival Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Aggies are 8-2 overall this season, have become eligible for a bowl game, and are in the mix for the SEC championship game. They are currently 5-1 against teams in the conference tied with nationally ranked No.3 Texas. They are one game in front of No. 10 Georgia and a half-game ahead of No. 11 Tennessee. Their only conference loss came against the former No. 8-ranked LSU three weeks ago.
They took down the former No. 9 ranked Missouri, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and New Mexico State in the last five weeks. Their other loss came against the No. 8-ranked Notre Dame in the first game of the season. Marcel Reed leads the team under center with 1,129 yards and nine touchdowns with two interceptions after taking over for Conner Weigman. Le’Veon Moss has 765 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
The Tigers of Auburn are just 4-6 overall this season and have dropped all the way to just 1-5 against teams in the conference. A once powerhouse of the SEC has been humbled. Their only conference win came against Kentucky, 24-10. They have lost to Arkansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Missouri, and Vanderbilt in their last seven games. Last week, they picked up a non-conference win against UL Monroe, 48-14.
They finish the season next week against No. 7 ranked Alabama. Payton Thorne, a senior quarterback, leads the team with 2,111 yards and 18 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He also has 276 yards and three touchdowns with his legs. Jarquez Hunter leads the ground attack with 1,015 yards and five touchdowns this season.
