Houston is coming off a 128-111 win against the reeling New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday. Jalen Green led the game with 30 points in under 30 minutes as the Rockets cruised to victory never trailing in the game. The Pelicans have lost eight games in a row and have only won five games on the season. Zion Williamson has missed the last 22 games and New Orleans has only won two of those games. They have also missed 13 games without Brandon Ingram and they have lost all of those contests. Fred VanVleet went off for the Rockets scoring 25 points after hitting seven threes. The Rockets will need just as much offense tonight if they are going to take down a much tougher Timberwolves team.

Minnesota is coming off a 105-99 win against the Dallas Mavericks in a rematch of the Western Conference Finals on Christmas Day. Anthony Edwards scored 26 points to lead Minnesota and were able to hold off Dallas even though Kyrie Irving scored 39 points and Luka Doncic left with a strained left calf. Julius Randle had a great game playing against his hometown team for the first time since being traded to Minnesota scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Expect another close game against another Texas team tonight.
