Bellarmine and VCU will kick off the 2024-2025 campaign when they meet in Richmond.
On Monday night, Virginia Commonwealth will host Bellarmine at the Siegel Center as the teams begin their 2024-2025 season. The Knights will be looking to improve on last season’s performance as they finished in last place in the Atlantic Sun Conference with an overall record of 8-23 and a conference record of 4-12. With the last place finish, the team failed to make postseason play, ending the year on a two-game losing streak with the final game of the season being a 90-87 overtime loss to Austin Peay State. This year’s squad welcomes three newcomers to the roster in the hopes that they will help the Knights to a higher finish when the season concludes.

The Rams made it into the postseason last year, finishing in fifth place in the Atlantic 10 standings with a conference record of 11-7 and an overall record of 24-14. The team had a strong playoff run, making it to the Atlantic 10 championship game where the Rams ultimately fell to Duquesne in a tough 57-51 loss. Despite the defeat in the A-10 tournament, the Rams made it into the NIT, advancing to the quarterfinal round where they were knocked out by Utah in a 74-54 loss. This year’s squad will look to graduate students Phillip Russell, Zeb Jackson, Jack Clark and Joe Bamisile as well as senior Max Shulga to boost the team to a higher finish and make a run at an Atlantic 10 title.
Monday’s game between Bellarmine and VCU will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. Tune in to see which team is able to earn the first win in the programs’ histories.
