The Rockies are coming off of the 2024 Major League Baseball campaign in which they finished in last place in the NL West stadings, courtesy of an overall record of 61-101. The team finished 37 games behind the first-placed Los Angeles Dodgers, who ended up winning the World Series at the end of the year. L.A. had an overall record of 98-64 in the regular season.

The team from Southern California faced its state rival in the San Diego Padres who were one of the hottest teams in baseball at the time. The series went the distance, but ultimately L.A. was able to win the series 3-2.
The Dodgers then went on to face the New York Mets in the NLCS, opening the series with a 9-0 victory at Dodger Stadium. The Mets bounced back to take game two 7-3 in Southern California.
Then, Los Angeles took the next two games, 8-0 and 10-2 respectively, at Citi Field in New York, before losing in game five 12-6. Finally, the Dodgers wrapped up the series in game six with a 10-5 win at Dodgers Stadium to advance to the World Series.
L.A. had to face the New York Yankees in the World Series, where they ended up winning in five games to take the league title, with the series-clinching win being at Yankee Stadium.
In spring training play, the Rockies are coming off of back-to-back losses against the Milwaukee Brewers.
