This season the UEFA Nations League puts 55 clubs on the pitch, all looking to win the league and the tournament in 2022-2023:
During last season’s group play, Cyprus went 1-1-4 with only four points, nearly the worst overall club in League C. They went to the relegation playoffs and took care of business against Estonia (2-0) in a solid win to avoid relegation.
They were in a group with Montenegro, Luxembourg and Azerbaijan, finishing with a negative two-goal differential in group play and then evened that out in the playoff.
This season they look to build off that, but are in a more challenging group overall with Northern Ireland, who was in Group B last year and Greece who is ranked ahead of them overall.
These clubs will have a lot of work to avoid potential relegation playoffs this year, let alone try to win the group and advance out of Group C.
