    St. John Bosco will head on the road this week in high school football to take on Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California, on Friday night. The Monarchs of Mater Dei are undefeated this season at 7-0 overall and 3-0 against league opponents. They are the No. 1 ranked team in the state and the country. They opened up the season with two home wins against Centennial and Bishop Gorman, 42-25 and 31-15, before winning their first game on the road, 38-7, against Kahuku. They went back home, beating SFA 25-14 before beating SMHS on the road 40-18. Their last two games were both road games, ending in a 28-6 win over Servite and a 41-7 win at JSCHS. Senior quarterback Dash Beierly, who is committed to Washington, has 999 yards and 14 touchdowns this season through the air and 226 yards on the ground with another touchdown with his legs. Senior running back Jordon Davison, who is committed to Oregon, had 592 yards and eight touchdowns. The team’s leading receiver is Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, a junior, who has 25 receptions for 333 yards and two scores.

    The Braves of St. John Bosco are 8-0 overall this season, and undefeated in league play at 3-0. They are the No. 2 ranked team in the state and in the country. Their three district wins in the last three weeks came against OLHS 28-24, SMHS 13-0, and Servite 27-17. They also won five non-conference games against CMHS, Eastwood, Sierra Canyon, Junipero Serro, and Pittsburgh.

    St. John Bosco is led by freshman quarterback Koa Malau’ulu, who has 854 yards and 12 touchdowns with just one interception. Malau’ulu already has an offer from New Mexico. His favorite target has been Carson Clark, a junior receiver with 579 yards on 38 completions and eight touchdowns.
