Both Rogers and Sheridan look to bounce back from high-scoring games last week when they meet Thursday for this non-conference matchup.
It’s a showdown in central Arkansas when the Sheridan Yellowjackets will host the Rogers Mountaineers on Thursday night. Rogers will face a tough road test in what has been an up-and-down start to the season. Rogers couldn’t have had a better start to the season shutting out North Little Rock 43-0. But the favor was returned right back to them the next week by Holland Hall when the Mountaineers were shut out by Holland Hall 49-0. It has been all or nothing for this team. The Mountaineers did have to travel to Tulsa, OK for the non-conference game against Holland Hall so staying in-state should help Rogers bring a more balanced attack tonight. Rogers had a better day in their last game coming home losing to Muskogee 33-28 who are defending state champions.

Sheridan is 1-1 on the season and they have been in high-scoring affairs as well. The Yellowjackets beat White Hall 44-20 in their opener. Last week though, Sheridan saw a blowout against Lakeside on the road. The offense wasn’t the issue in the 56-27 loss. The game was close in the first half with Sheridan only down eight points but that is when Lakeside started to pull away late in the second quarter. The Yellowjackets were only able to score once in the second half where Lakeside was able to continue their will the rest of the way. Which school will bounce back first in this non-conference game?
