    St. John Bosco (4-0) returns home on Friday night when the No. 2-ranked team in the USA Today Sports Super 25 hosts unbeaten Pittsburg (3-0) at Panish Family Stadium in Bellflower, California. Each team has two players listed among ESPN’s top 100 recruits in California for the Class of 2025 and the Pirates come in off their first real test of the season last week. The Braves of St. John Bosco reached the championship game of last year’s CIF Division 1 playoffs before losing to Santa Ana Mater Dei, currently ranked No. 1 in the nation. Pittsburgh lost to Folsom in the regional finals for the Division 1-A tournament.

    The Braves handled host Junipero Serra 56-16 in San Mateo on Saturday. Marley Alcantata finished 10-of-13 for 139 yards and a 31-yard touchdown to Kenneth Ward.

    St. John Bosco defensive end Epi Sitanilei is a UCLA commit ranked 30th in ESPN’s list of California seniors while undeclared cornerback Jacob Holmes is 89th. Holmes has seven FCS offers. Pirates safety Jadyn Hudson, ranked 28th, and defensive end Jewelous Walls, checking in at No. 56, are also headed to UCLA.
