The Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers will head on the road in Week 7 of the high school football season to take on Chicago Mount Carmel Caravan on Friday night in Chicago. The Hilltoppers head into this road game with a 4-2 record overall and a 2-0 record against conference opponents. They are currently the No. 15 ranked team in Illinois. They opened up their season with a 50-22 win over Iowa City at home before heading on the road and losing to Oswego in a shutout 17-0. They bounced back in Week 3 heading back home with a win 14-13 narrowly over Fenwick and doubled down in their first conference game with a home win over Marist in overtime 31-30. Week 5 saw their second loss of the season to non-conference opponent Nazareth Academy on the road before beating Niles Notre Dame in a road game last week 28-0. Larry Stringham was able to run for a 45-yard rushing touchdown to add the fourth touchdown of the day in Joliet Catholic’s last game.

The Caravan are also 4-2 heading into Week 7, but they are 1-1 in the conference and the No. 2 ranked team in Illinois. They opened the season with a home loss against Hun 42-38. Their next game wouldn’t be as tight as they shutout St. Rita on the road 28-0 and followed it up with a home domination over Nazareth Academy 56-33 in Week 3.
Their first conference game ended in a 45-24 win at home against SICP as they extended their winning streak to four games with a Week 5 win over Benet Academy 48-13. Last week, they lost their second game of the season against Brother Rice, a conference opponent, on the road narrowly 16-13.
