With Crosby on the threshold of history the Penguins aim to avoid season sweep by the Jets
Boasting the best record in the National Hockey League, the Winnipeg Jets open a season-longest six-game road trip on Friday night as they take on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins inside PPG Paints Arena. The Jets own the top scoring offense in the league led by the number one ranked power play that is converting on 35.7% of chances with the man advantage. The Penguins have lost 12 of their last 16 games despite Crosby being on the verge of becoming just the eighth player in NHL history to accumulate 600 goals and 1,000 assists in a career and comes into this game one goal away from being the third Penguin to achieve that feat.

The Jets won the first meeting between the clubs this season 6-3 lighting the lamp three times in the third period including an empty net goal for Nino Niederreiter.
Winnipeg has won three of the last four meetings in this series with two wins coming in the last four trips to Pittsburgh.
