Norris will start on the inside of Row 2 Sunday with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, last week’s winner in Austin, on the outside. The Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton starts fifth and sixth, respectively, with Kevin Magnussen of Haas and Pierre Gasly of Alpine on Row 4 and Alexander Albon of Williams and Haas’ Nico Hülkenberg rounding out the top 10.
The race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez was revived in 2015 after a 22-year absence and since its return, Verstappen has won a record five times, all in the last six years including the last three in a row. The 2.674-mile circuit includes 17 turns, including a series of sharp turns entering and exiting the Foro baseball stadium, re-entering the main track halfway through.
A reversal of positions between Verstappen and Norris last week resulted in a six-point swing when Norris was moved back a spot to fourth and Verstappen to third after Norris overtook the Dutch driver while both were off the track. Leclerc is third in the driver standings, 79 points behind.
