Eli Tomac and Shane McElrath highlight the second round of the FIM Supercross World Championships on Saturday.
The FIM Supercross World Championships will head to Perth, Australia, for Rounds 2 and 3 of this season. The FIM, which stands for Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, is the premier championship for international stadium supercross racing. These rounds will be played at HBF Park in Australia’s capital. The first round of the 2024 season was in Vancouver, Canada, at the BC Place on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
The WSX Canadian GP Overall SX2 points were led by Shane McElrath, who races with Fire Power Honda, after a total of 89 points. He is followed by Max Anstie and Cole Thompson, his teammate, who both had 79 points. The overall WSX points for Round 1 were led by Eli Tomac from team CDR Yamaha, with a total of 100 points. He is followed by Ken Roczen, from team PMG, who has 84 points.
Tomac leads the current overall standings as well with 100 points over Roczen’s 84 points.
The opening ceremony will take place at 5:50 a.m. followed by the top four riders of each qualifying results from each class in the WSX and SX2 Superpol. The SX2 and WSX will alternate races with SX2 leading off with Race 1 at 6:35 a.m. The WSX Race 1 will take place at 6:49 a.m.
The event will conclude with the SX2 and WSX SuperFinal at 8:31 a.m. which is the top eight racers from the GP Race Results from each class. The awards and podium presentations will finish the event around 9:00 a.m. This will not be a race that you will want to miss as Eli Tomac looks to keep the lead in the overall standings.
Round 2 will start from the same track on Sunday morning.
