The NFL continued to be a head-scratcher this weekend as the Raiders scored 63 points a week after being shutout, the Panthers and Falcons combined for 16 points and had about that many fans at the game and the Eagles lost again.
If you want chaos then this is the season for you. There are three weeks left in the regular season and a lot to be decided. Before we get to the next set of games lets take a look at our updated power rankings.
1. San Francisco 49ers 11-3
Last Week 1
The 49ers continue to prove that they are the best team in the NFL this season as they whipped the Cardinals 45-22 on Sunday. If this team stays healthy they are the favorite to run away with the Super Bowl.
2. Baltimore Ravens 11-3
Last Week 3
Lamar Jackson continues to impress and the defense held the Jaguars to seven points to get their 11th win of the year. They stayed in the top spot in the AFC, but are going to get tested in the next two weeks. Up first is a possible Super Bowl preview with the 49ers on Christmas night.
3. Miami Dolphins 10-4
Last Week 4
No Tyreek Hill, no problem as the Dolphins had little trouble beating the Jets 30-0 on Sunday. They stayed just a game back of the Ravens for the top spot in the AFC and will get a shot at them in two weeks.
4. Buffalo Bills 8-6
Last Week 6
The Bills got a dominant 31-10 win over the Cowboys on Sunday and now get a bit of a break in the schedule as they play the Chargers and Patriots the next two weeks. They can’t let up as they need to win both games to ensure a playoff spot.
5. Dallas Cowboys 10-4
Last Week 2
A week after a huge win over the Eagles, they fall flat against the Bills. They stayed at the top of the NFC East thanks to an Eagles loss, but it doesn’t get any easier for them as they have the Dolphins and Lions the next two weeks.
6. Detroit Lions 10-4
Last Week 7
The Lions got a huge win on Saturday night when they beat the Broncos 42-17. They were coming off a disappointing loss to the Bears, but got right and have all but clinched the NFC North. They need just one win the last three to win the division and clinch a home playoff game.
7. Kansas City Chiefs 9-5
Last Week 8
The Chiefs bounced back on Sunday to beat the Patriots 27-17. They now get two straight home games again the Raiders and Bengals and need to win to stay ahead of the Broncos in the division.
8. Philadelphia Eagles 10-4
Last Week 4
The Eagles lost their third straight game as they gave up a late touchdown to the Seahawks on Monday night. The Eagles have clinched a playoff spot, but they have to be concerned with how they are playing right now. They have the Giants twice and the Cardinals to end the season and need to find a way to get back on track.
9. Cleveland Browns 9-5
Last Week 10
The Browns escaped with a win over the Bears on Sunday. They trailed by 10 heading into the fourth, but scored 13 straight points to take the lead. They then had to survive a Hail Mary attempt that bounced out of the arms of Darnell Mooney to get the win. They got the win, though, and have a great shot at making the playoffs now.
10. Cincinnati Bengals 8-6
Last Week 11
The Bengals won their third straight on Saturday when they came back to beat the Vikings in overtime. They are in playoff position right now, but road games at the Steelers and Chiefs in the next two weeks will determine their fate.
11. Los Angeles Rams 7-7
Last Week 13
The Rams took a big step to making the playoffs on Sunday when they beat the Commanders 28-20. They control their own destiny for a playoff spot but play two of their last three games on the road. The last of which is in San Francisco against the 49ers.
12. Denver Broncos 7-7
Last Week 9
The Broncos lost for the second time in three games when they went to Detroit and lost to the Lions 42-17 on Saturday. It was bad loss, but they have a light schedule the rest of the way and still have time to rebound and make a run at the playoffs.
13. Jacksonville Jaguars 8-6
Last Week 12
Three straight losses have dropped the Jaguars into a tie with the Colts and Texans for first place in the AFC South. They still own tiebreakers, but they need to win. They have a tough road game at the Buccaneers on Sunday before playing the Panthers and Titans to finish the season.
14. Indianapolis Colts 8-6
Last Week 14
The Colts erased an early deficit to the Steelers on Saturday to get a huge win. They now get the Falcons at home before the Raiders and Texans come to Indianapolis. They control their own destiny and still have a shot at winning the AFC South and getting a home playoff game.
15. Houston Texans 8-6
Last Week 16
The Texans got a huge win on Sunday when they came back to beat the Titans on the road. The win kept them in the playoff conversation, but the schedule isn’t going to be easy to finish the year. They have home games with the Browns and Titans before finishing the year at the Colts.
16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-7
Last week 17
The Buccaneers picked up a huge win on Sunday in Green Bay. They are now tied with the Saints for the top spot in the NFC South and their game with New Orleans in two weeks should decide who wins the division. Bake Mayfield has played well for the Bucs who are making a push for the playoffs.
17. New Orleans Saints 7-7
Last Week 18
The Saints got a much-needed win over the Giants on Sunday and it kept them in a tie with the Buccaneers in the AFC South. Things get tough the next two weeks as they travel to take on the Rams and Bucs before ending the year at home against the Falcons.
18. Seattle Seahawks 7-7
Last Week 20
The Seahawks shocked the Eagles with a last-minute touchdown and it kept their playoff hopes alive. The win snapped a four-game losing streak and has them in a four-way tie for the last two wild card spots in the NFC.
19. Green Bay Packers 6-8
Last week 15
The Packers lost their second game in a row on Sunday when they lost to the Buccaneers. Two weeks ago the Packers were in a great spot to make the playoffs, but they now find themselves a game back. They have games at the Panthers and Vikings the next two weeks before finishing the year with the Bears at home.
20. Chicago Bears 5-9
Last Week 21
The Bears had the win in their hands against the Browns, but literally let it bounce out. After blowing a 10-point lead they had a Hail Mary in the hands of Darnell Mooney, but he dropped it and the Bears playoff hopes are almost gone. They still have a very outside shot, but they have to win their last three games.
21. Minnesota Vikings 7-7
Last Week 22
The Vikings blew a chance to take control of the wild card when they lost in overtime to the Bengals. They still sit in the six spot, but are in a four-way tie and have no wiggle room. They must play the Lions twice in the last three weeks and also have the Packers on their schedule. It is not going to be easy for them.
22. Las Vegas Raiders 6-8
Last Week 27
The Raiders exploded for a franchise-record 63 points on Thursday night against the Chargers. The win kept their slim playoff hopes alive, but they are still two games back. They have one of the hardest last three games in the NFL as they play at the Chiefs and Colts before hosting the Broncos in Week 18.
23. Pittsburgh Steelers 7-7
Last Week 23
The Steelers lost their third straight game on Saturday when they blew a 14-point lead and lost to the Colts. Their playoff hopes are slowly fading as they welcome the Bengals to town on Saturday afternoon.
24. Tennessee Titans 5-9
Last Week 24
The Titans blew a chance to get back in the playoff picture when they gave up a late field goal to lose to the Texans. The Titans now will turn their focus on rebuilding for next year as they finish out this season.
25. Atlanta Falcons 6-8
Last Week 19
The Falcons suffered a really bad loss on Sunday when they lost to the Panthers 9-7. They were tied for first in the NFC South, but the loss drops them a game behind and their chances of a wild card are slowly slipping away also.
26. New York Giants 5-9
Last Week 25
The Giants had some life coming into the weekend, but a loss to the Saints have all but eliminated them from playoff contention. They still have two games with the Eagles coming up, but will look to play spoiler.
27. Los Angeles Chargers 5-9
Last Week 26
The Chargers looked horrible on Thursday night and it was the last straw for head coach Brandon Staley who was fired on Friday. With Justin Herbert out the rest of the year this team would be better off losing to improve their draft positioning.
28. New York Jets 5-9
Last Week 28
The Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention after getting shutout by the Dolphins on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers has been cleared to play, but with the Jets being eliminated it is doubtful he will see the field.
29. Arizona Cardinals 3-11
Last Week 29
The Cardinals were competitive for a little bit against the 49ers, but were ultimately blown out yet again. The Cardinals just are short on talent this year and are looking toward the future.
30. New England Patriots 3-11
Last Week 30
The Patriots gave a good fight to the Chiefs but didn’t have enough to pull off the upset. They are out of the playoffs and like the Cardinals are looking towards next year, where the big question will be if Bill Belichick returns.
31. Washington Commanders 4-10
Last week 31
The Commanders, like the two teams above them, put up a fight on Sunday but came up short. They continue to struggle and this seems like the end for Ron Rivera as head coach in Washington.
32. Carolina Panthers 2-12
Last Week 32
The Panthers got an ugly win, but it was a win and they now doubled their total for the year. There weren’t a lot of fans in the stands to see it, but they are now just a game back of the Cardinals and Patriots for the worst record in the league.\
