2022 Omega European Masters runner-up leads the pack in 2024 after two rounds heading into the third day early Saturday morning.
Heading into the third round of the Omega European Masters tournament, Englishman Matt Wallace is sitting pretty nice at the top of the leaderboard. Wallace is shooting 14-under-par going after the second round. That is after he shot eight under in the second round which was five strokes better than the nearest competitor with an astounding 62. Most recently, Wallace had a great season last year winning his first PGA Tour title at the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship. The next player on the leaderboard is Englishman Alex Fitzpatrick who shot three under in the second round and sits at 10-under-par overall for the tournament. Henrik Norlander and Jordan Smith round out the leaderboard who are both tied at nine under.

Wallace has a great opportunity to capture a victory here in the Swiss mountains at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. The best finish Wallace here came in 2022 when he came in second place. Swedish golfer Ludvig Aberg won this tournament in 2023. The golfer with the most local appeal is Swiss golfer Cédric Gugler who had a great second round finishing with a final score of six under which is good enough for 10th place. There is still a lot of golf to be played so this is still anyone’s tournament.
